I have a makeshift clothesline hanging in my living room to display the kids artwork. I took down the Christmas projects with the decorations so for nearly two weeks I’ve had an empty line on my wall. I finally decided to move the line into the dining room and instead of hanging Valentine projects like originally planned, I hung matted pictures. They. look. awesome. The best part is that I finally have my kids’ school & sports portraits out for all to see.
I *always* order a portrait package every year no matter what they are involved in and I *never* display the picture or cut-up the subsequent wallets & 5x7s and hand them to family. Seriously. What a waste of money. So I spent some time dividing everything up into envelopes the other day (I just had to display Andrew’s football picture ~ it’s the cutest!) and hanging some of the larger pictures we were keeping.
Since my dining room wall is a dark chocolate brown I matted all of the photos on white. Love it! They really pop this way. If you want an easy project with no large holes in your wall, I recommend this. I just used a pretty cotton yarn (almost resembles bakery string) and two clear thumb tacks. The mini clips are Jolees. And then hang up kiddie art projects, pictures, whatever! I love that it’s so easy to change the pieces each season. I smile every time I walk past this wall and see my cute kids smiling out at me.
