I love Halloween more now as an adult than I ever did as a kid. There are spiderwebs draped all through my house, and a spooky village set up near my front door. I can’t wait to play my CD of eery sounds, and I have a party planned for Halloween weekend. I picked up a few basic supplies from my local craft store in order to stretch my budget with my holiday decorations.
For starters, I made these garlands to hang on the bookcases on either side of my fireplace: Following the idea here.
I just printed out lots of fun Halloween fonts onto digital Halloween papers from the Halloween kit here, mixing and matching.
Any construction or scrapbook papers could be used. I used a glue pen to outline the letters, then sprinkled them with black glitter. I printed, then mounted a black damask paper behind each letter and cut it out with a scalloped scissor, making a black scalloped border around each letter. Then I simply stapled each letter to a 6′ length of black polka dot ribbon, and hung them above my bookcases, embellishing with more black ribbon, some berry garland, and a silver beaded garland. Easy, and fun for the kids!
I was having so much fun that I decided to make these spooky skeleton canvases:
I bought some plain 6″x8″ canvases (very cheap!) at my local craft store. I cut 3 different 6″x8″ pieces from a skeleton paper (also in the Halloween kit. Again, any Halloween paper could be used.) Then I coated each canvas with a layer of Modge Podge, stuck on the paper, and gave it one more coat on the top.
Took 5 minutes to do all 3! I placed them on a shelf with some “boo” mini buckets that I picked up from Target for $1.00 each.
I hope this inspires you to enjoy Halloween as much as any kid!

My holiday tip is for Thanksgiving. When the kids were younger we would trace their handprints on construction paper and let them color their turkeys. On the back we’d write what they were thankful for then we’d attach their Thankful Turkey Hands to the ones from the year before making a Thanksgiving garland. It was great to see how much their hands (and coloring skills) grew over the years and to see what they were thankful for then and now.

If you need to know the answer to that question, then maybe something like a pair of Supra Skytop Sneakers might not, in fact, before you. When you hear the word “hot” think of shoes and other popular items like the Supras.|Kobe Bryant Shoes
