BIO
me.
recently, we had dinner with good friends.
as we parted ways after an evening of laughter and spirited conversation, their eight-year-old daughter danced around the room and said her goodbyes.
“mrs. marilyn, thanks for playing american girl dolls with us.”
“matt, thanks for making me laugh. that keep-the-balloon-up-in-the-air game is really fun!”
then it was my turn.
“emmie.” (thoughtful silence.) “thanks…for being yourself.”
we laughed so hard we choked. it was a brilliant truth; i’m known for keeping it real.
john newton once wrote, “i am not what I ought to be, i am not what I want to be, i am not what I hope to be in another world; but still i am not what i once used to be, and by the grace of god i am what i am.”
