The following is a list of health benefits from drinking coffee that have come from 20 years of research.
The more you drink, the better off you are - one to three cups a day on average. By this standard, I should be the most healthy person I know!
- Coffee drinkers are about 80% less likely to develop Parkinson’s and type 2 diabetes.
- Endometrial cancer is about half as likely to occur in women who drink coffee.
- A reduced risk of colon cancer and strokes have been observed in people who regularly drink coffee.
- Science has witnessed a significant drop in liver cirrhosis risk.
- Compared to non-coffee drinkers, coffee drinkers experience half the risk of gallstones.
- Smokers who regularly drink coffee have less heart disease and liver damage vs. not drinking coffee at all.
- It is also being researched that coffee may help in controlling asthma attacks, stop headaches and muscle pain and potentially prevent cavities. (Maybe this is why I have only ever had cavities ONCE.)
- Coffee may also protect against Alzheimer’s disease; however this is still being researched.
- Those who drink coffee are less likely to develop or experience depression.
Did you know?
- Parkinson’s drugs are now being created with a derivative of caffeine.
- Some pain relievers, including Excedrin contain up to 120 mg of caffeine.
- Caffeine was viewed as a “controlled substance” and was required to be limited by athletes competing in the Olympic Games
And hot off the press: The more you drink, the better off you are - one to three cups a day on average. By this standard, I should be the most healthy person I know! Get this: Men having six cups or more a day slashed their risk of disease by 54% - women by 30+% over those who drink one to three cups of coffee per day.
So, go get another coffee and do yourself some good! ![]()
I most whole heartedly agree. Coffee has been my life fluid for almost as far back as I can remember (mind you said “almost” I can actually remember farther back, but as an adult, I think my life began about the same time I found my love for coffee). It has served me well and still does. I think I will have another cup now.
A truly reaffirming post as I enjoy my 2nd cup of the day!
