a french toast twist

a french toast twist

In my family, there is only one way to eat French Toast… with cheese!

**The following article was written by guest contributor, Laura Webb.**

Now, before you wrinkle your nose at this one, I urge you to try it! It’s simple!

Try something new for breakfast this weekend… you won’t be disappointed!!

• Make your French toast as you normally would. I use a typical egg, milk and dash of cinnamon with some yummy thick bread. If you like yours extra sweet, put a drop of vanilla in the mix.

• After cooking both sides of the bread until they are golden brown, put on your plate and assemble just like a grilled cheese sandwich. I’ve used a variety of different cheeses, but Kraft singles works perfectly!

• Add syrup and butter and enjoy! You will hardly taste the cheese, but it will add a saltiness to cut down on the sweet and I promise you, you will be converted to French toast - with cheese!

My husband’s mother used to make french toast like that for him, and he loves it….I can’t bring myself to do it, even though I’m sure it’s yummy.
