Need your help to settle an argument

Seriously, I really do need your help.  As you know I am a bit, we’ll call it frugal and while I was at Goodwill (love, love, love Goodwill,) I picked up some great dresses for Andie. I love the pink one (top pic - she hates this one says it makes her look “old”)and the halter palm tree dress and she loves the gray Charlotte Russo dress (second down from the right, under the palm tree dress) - My wonderful, awesome,  protective hubby thinks that the gray dress isn’t appropriate for a girl her age (p.s she’s 17.) 

I’ve decided to put the question out to the public.  Do you think the dress is appropriate for a 17 year old?   

Just in case your wondering she has a 3.6 grade point average and is currently dual enrolled, she goes to college as well as high school (her goal is to get her high school diploma and AA degree at the same time.) - My overachiever I don’t know where she gets it from
