this crafty thing we do

We call ourselves “crafty.”  We look at it like a hobby, an addiction, a break from the things we have to do.  We love to create, to scrapbook, to sew, to paint, etc…  This crafty thing we do is also a booming industry!  And, so I learned from the CHA Conference and Tradeshow in Orlando.

It was such an exciting trip.  Barb and I planned to meet up w/ my friend, Amy, in Orlando for a few days.  I have known her for a year or two via the digital scrapbooking community and have been working with her at After Five Designs for over a year now but had not met her in person - only iChatted.  We met up on Wednesday morning and we were quickly acting like old friends - late night talking, opinion sharing, picture taking, shopping, scrapbooking girl friends. 

It was awesome to have insight into the fall and winter trends, meet some faces behind the incredible products and designs and to see how it all just keeps going and going and going.  I was so inspired; I could barely wait to get home to create something.  I was not the only one oozing w/ ideas.  By Thursday afternoon, we were jonesing for a scrapbook supply store.  We Google-mapped a local scrap boutique and went shopping for a project we could create right then - and quickly.  We all agreed on chipboard albums and headed straight for the hotel to order Chinese delivery and scrap!
